In a match that ended 1 1, Celtic outplayed Rangers with Scott McDonald getting the opener in the first Glasgow derby game of 2010 Poor refereeing from Steve Conroy kept Kyle Lafferty on the pitch after a lunging challenge on Andreas Hinkel. The ref also disallowed a 19th-minute headed goal from Marc Antoine Fortune. Celtic didn't take their chances and Rangers scored from a corner.

From friend to foe at season's end

The World Cup draw has been made and with it some Celts will turn from friend to foe at season's end. New Celtic signing Ki Sung-Yong and South Korea will take on Georgios Samaras's Greece in Group B. Ki watched the draw in London as he travelled home after sealing his move to Celtic on Thursday. And he relishes his return to Paradise to start the war of words with Samaras.

Fortune side-footed in a cross by Shaun Maloney (21), who bulleted a header in for 2-0 (28), before Collin Samuel fired in a 25-yarder (36) for Saints.

Aiden McGeady's double ensured Celtic cruised to victory in the SPL opener against Mark McGhee's men at Pittodrie. The midfielder bundled the ball home after Marc-Antoine Fortune's shot was blocked by Jamie Langfield (29) and he curled in a superb second (42). Scott McDonald capitalised on poor defending to net a third (44), before Sone Aluko chested down Gary McDonald's lay-off and volleyed home (61).

 

McDonald makes Celtic firm favourites for four-in-a-row

Once more the SPL title race will be fought to the bitter end of the Scottish league season. Four rounds of fixtures between now and May 24 will decide the destiny of the championship for another year.

McDonald urges Celtic to attack against Aalborg
