Strachan seals place in Celtic pantheon
They cannot now deny Gordon Strachan his place in Celtic's pantheon, those begrudgers in the stands - and sometimes in the media - who have been swift to decry the Parkhead manager when the going got tough and who were proportionately reluctant to favour him with praise when he has delivered the goods. Even fair-minded Celtic fans have sometimes struggled to accept Strachan's waspish outbursts, although his revered predecessor, Martin O'Neill, was given to similar sharp responses when provoked by what he considered to be ill-judged or uninformed questions.
O'Neill, of course, was perfectly matched to the template on ideal Celtic manager, although he had never played for the club. He came from Kilrea, in one of Celtic's Irish heartlands, and famously disclosed that his father had urged him to 'crawl over broken glass' to accept the position of manager should it ever be offered.
Strachan also had no history of playing for Celtic but when he was with Aberdeen he demonstrated a relish for combat against both Old Firm clubs that left little legacy of fondness for him in Glasgow. In fact, the single most graphic image of him at Celtic Park as a player is that of a maddened Hoops fan sprinting on to the pitch to assault him.

Strachan
I think Strachan has done a great job. Three titles in a row cannot be argued with. The way he motivated his players to win all those games at the end of the season to steal the league from Rangers is very commendable. I think he will go down as one of the great Celtic managers.
WGS
I Agree that WGS has more than proven himself as a top class Celtic servant and manager, the squad actually relish playing for the guy and is it not just unfortunate but IMHO totally unacceptable that there seem to be not only the eegit meeja but also sections of the Celtic support that were actually wanting Celtic to crumble spectacularly so they could pounce on the wounded like prairie dogs and feast on an injured man.
I for one do not think WHS plays football the Tommy Burns, god rest his soul and the Celtic way but, we are not being subjected to "anti football" a 4-5-1 or indeed sometimes it seems 5-5-0 formation that "quadruple winners in the making" have played for the entire season.
WGS has turned the club around while cutting the wage bill drastically and indeed and the average age of players quite considerably
I am sick of the snipers and the whiners who moan because WGS does not come from a "celtic" background. Lets back the wee man no matter what. With the 12th man firmly behind the manager and the team we can make the difference.
