Hibs striker ignores Celtic speculation

Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher will ignore increasing speculation that he is set to move to Celtic, according to his agent.
Scott Fisher – who represents the 22-year-old – has said that Fletcher will ‘remain fully focused’ on everything to do with his current club. This is despite fresh reports linking the forward with a move to Celtic Park.
Former Bhoys manager Gordon Strachan failed with a bid for the player in January and it is believed that new boss Tony Mowbray is keen to follow up this interest.
As for the player himself, well he has hinted in the past that it would be his dream to play for Celtic as they are the team he supported as a boy.
Mowbray is familiar with Fletcher’s ability and personality as well because he mentored the striker during his time as manager of Hibs. Overall, this move seems to make perfect sense!
However, as previously mentioned, Fletcher’s agent has played down the speculation somewhat. He even went on to say how Hibs manager John Hughes is ‘looking to sit and speak to all of his players’, including Fletcher.
This seems to suggest that Fletcher isn’t completely ruling out staying at Hibs. He has had great success there, after all. Would he want to risk this in order to compete for a place in the Celtic team?
I guess we will have to wait and see before placing our Scottish football bets !
